Relatively new on the karting scene compared to the much larger teams, BENIK Kart continues to develop a name for themselves on the national level. Competing at the Cold Stone Florida Winter Tour this past weekend at the Orlando Kart Center in Orlando, Florida, Team BENIK was once again at the front of the field scoring several pole positions and podiums throughout the event.

In the talent-filled Vortex Mini ROK division, Team BENIK qualified in the pole position on both days of competition with Johnny Edgar and Derek Carmenate taking top honors. Progressing nicely through the heat races, Edgar would be the best of the BENIK competitors coming home with a third place podium result as BENIK would also secure five of the top-ten positions.

With Carmenate qualifying on the pole position for Sunday, BENIK would secure the front row taking the top two positions and six of the top-eight. Carmenate would turn his pole position into the best finish for the team claiming the second step on the podium with five drivers in the top-seven. The fastest lap of the race was also credited to BENIK driver Lachlan DeFrancesco.

“It was a great weekend and even though we didn’t come with a win, it was another strong showing for the team,” explained Team Manager Nick Mitchell. “Our results are speaking for themselves and we are heading in the right direction with our team, drivers and equipment.”

BENIK was also at the front of the field in the Vortex Micro ROK class with Chase Heffner and seven-year-old Oliver Denny from the UK. Heffner would cross the stripe second on Saturday scoring the fastest lap of the main event with Denny repeating the performance on Sunday.
